Add a Monogram, Name, Title or Custom Image to your Book
Gold or Blind Embossing
For your name or monogram, I set metal type, one letter at a time into a clamping holder, heat it to 250 degrees, and place gold foil between the leather and the hot type for a gold impression. For blind embossing, the type is heated much higher to make a deep impression directly into the leather. Several of my sets of type are very old and are of different sizes.
A title or custom image needs to be stamped with larger equipment in a local commercial bindery. In order to make an image from your camera-ready artwork, a magnesium die is made. Pricing depends on the size of the die. Call me at 413 422-1059 for information and directions.
