Add Jewels, Keys, Crosses
Another way to make your book unique is to add a one of a kind jewel, key or cross. I have done this for years on my own books. They can either be adhered to the front cover, or suspended from a strap or loop as I have done on some of the one-of-a-kind ancient books on this web site.
