This is one of my favorite bindings done in soft brown full-grained cowhide. The spirit of Old Leather Books is embodied in this binding. I used the five raised bands of medieval style books, but wrapped them over parts of the front and back covers to exaggerate their bulk and substance. Then I added two knots and loops to the front and back covers to emphasize the precious nature of the book that needs to be SECURELY enclosed. A name can be added can be added to the lower right corner. A monogram also looks beautiful. I hope you love this book as much as I do, and will find it worthy to be your own Family Bible. Has. hundreds of gorgeous Renaissance paintings. It is 8 3/8 x 11 1/4 inches, has 875 smooth ivory pages with gilt edges, and has numerous illuminations painted by Renaissance masters. Each page has decorative borders, column dividers, and illuminated and historiated initial capitals. These are decorated with the delicate vines and fanciful images that only great medieval scribes and illuminators could invent! It has 12 pages for Family records - births, marriages deaths. It includes pictures of the Vatican and its treasures, Pope Benedict VI, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, illuminated pages for marriages, the family tree, husband and wife's geneologies, births, a beautiful New Testament with 14 pages of full color paintings of the masters, a gorgeous Life of the Blessed Virgin with the story of the Rosary and other beautiful Marian prayers with 7 pages of full color paintings of the masters, and a Catholic Encyclopedic Dictionary and Biblical Reference guide.
