This is the most demanding binding that I make. The knots and braids are bulky, and have to be added in stages. I use carpenter's clamps and cobbler's glue to hold it togethe for at least 24 hours each for the two braids and two knots and loops. The gold fragments are your choice of old, fragments that are always different depending on what 100-year old broken books I have found or leather I stamp with a medieval design. .
